The Reserve Collection is Boland Cellar's annual expression of carefully selected parcels. This layered blend of Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Franc brings concentrated fruit, spice and aromatics into a composed expression of the vintage.

Vineyards
Where this wine begins
Proven vineyard sites are selected on decomposed granite and shale soils. Well-drained granite brings minerality and elegance, while clay-rich shale retains water and develops concentration and complexity. North- to north-west-facing slopes receive generous daylight and cooler nights, supporting colour intensity and stability.
Winemaking
How it is made
Each variety is picked at optimum ripeness and vinified separately. Pinotage and Shiraz receive a two-day cold soak for colour and flavour extraction, followed by gentle pump-overs during fermentation. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc remain on their skins after fermentation to soften the phenolics. The wine matures for 16 to 18 months in first- and second-fill 300-litre French oak barrels before final blending.
